Hi, I’m Amanda Fisher aka The Cashflow Queen, and I help business owners to understand their numbers so that they can make good decisions in their business.
Have you ever worried about how you're going to pay the bills, the wages, the rent?
Or
Have you ever been baffled when your accountant says that you've made a profit and you've got tax to pay, but yet you've got no money in the bank?
Or
Have you ever been worried about asking your accountant questions about the numbers for fear of looking stupid?
Me too!
I've been there too, because whilst I'm an accountant, I was trained originally on how to do tax returns and prepare financial statements. Accountants aren't trained on how to run a business, how to manage cash flow or how to look at budgets.
We didn't get that training when I studied accounting many years ago. Consequently, when I started my first business, I had no idea. Lucky for me, a couple of clients insisted on paying 12 months of fees up-front because they actually understood better than I did what the cash flow implications were going to be.
And later on, when I had a business with a big team, I struggled to pay the wages. I used to freak out all the time about how I was going to pay the wages next week. I paid the staff fortnightly, so every second week I'd go into panic about whether there was enough money to cover the wages? Have I got enough money in the bank?
And then at the beginning of the month, there was the rent to pay. But those couple of big items they got me every single time because I wasn't looking at the numbers. I wasn't looking to seeing what was going on in the business at the time. I was too busy hustling, managing the business, talking to clients, doing all the operational work and I wasn't paying attention to what was going on inside my business.
Each time I found myself struggling, it was because I hadn't put a focus on the numbers.
And a bit like the plumber with the leaky tap at home, I was the accountant that looked after my clients first but didn't look after my own finances and so my cash flow would end up in a bit of a diabolical disaster.
But it doesn't have to be that way and that's why I created the Simple Cash Flow Management Program.
What I learned every time I got myself in a pickle was that it was always because I took my eye off the numbers. I got too busy doing other things and I stopped looking at the numbers. Every single time.
Every time I picked myself up and said, "Amanda, take time. Make time to look at the numbers, to forward plan it and to see what's going on in the business."
Every time I did that, I came out of it. Every single time because it was in focusing on the numbers, knowing what was coming up I was able to make the decisions that meant that I didn't have to stress about paying the wages or the rent or any of the other bills because I knew what was coming and I'd made decisions to make sure that I was okay.
Because you see, every time I've done that, it just felt like the weight of the world had lifted from my shoulders.
Because it's a bit like you have some pain of some sort and before you can get to see the doctor, you've imagined every worst-case scenario possible. Our imaginations run riot. They're really good at creating all these worst-case scenarios. What if it's this? Oh, I'm going to die. I've got this, I've got that. This is wrong with me, that's wrong with me, and so on.
And then you eventually get to the doctor, and the doctor says, you've got this wrong with you. This is the problem. You need to take these tablets, or do exercises and do this or something else. Whatever it is, but there's a plan of action that the doctor gives to you and there's a name to what you've got wrong with you.
You've got this knowledge, and at that point you walk out of the doctors going, okay, so I've got this. Not the end of the world. I've got to take these tablets. I've got to do this exercise. I've got to do whatever. I've got this action plan. Okay, I can do that.
It's the same thing with cash flow management.
When you're stressing about it, worrying about it and not knowing what tomorrow's going to bring. Is there going to be money, not going to be money? The uncertainty makes you worry about it.
It's the same thing because your mind's doing this wonderful imagination of everything going wrong.
But when you start to focus on it and look at it, you can make decisions around it. And you get that feeling of control, that you're in control of what's going on and that's so, so important.
I've created the Simple Cash Flow Management Program specifically for you, the business owner because it's not about learning to be a bookkeeper or an accountant. It's about knowing what the numbers are that are put in front of you so that you can read them, interpret them, understand them, make decisions from those numbers.
The program has three modules plus an introduction. A total of 11 lessons and I've thrown in 2 bonus lessons as well because those that went through the beta program told me I really needed to add in these couple of extras.
In the Introduction we have a quick summary of bookkeeping, and I introduce my tracking system. And it's a really good simple little system. It's a one-page document you can download. Then you can keep track of how you're going on some key numbers on a regular basis in your business.
The first Module is all about getting paid.
We look at what outstanding invoices you’ve got. Then work on how you can get that money coming in. And also look to find trends in the money coming into your bank account. What does that look like.
We've got some downloads for you specifically to keep track of your daily banking, and to look at what you're looking at in your accounts receivable or your outstanding invoices.
Module two is about paying bills.
Looking at expenses and reviewing expenses. Identify what's due for payment and when. We've got an expense payment schedule and a daily payment schedule. We've also got in there some information about the differences between fixed and variable costs because that's another key element in your expenses.
Module three is where we bring it all together into preparing that cashflow projection.
We're preparing your cash flow forecast. What that looks like. How to piece it together. We've got the downloads for you. You can fill in your numbers based on the information you did working through the earlier couple of modules.
We look at how little changes in it can make a big difference and understanding how when you change the data, what impact it has when you do change that. That brings it all together.
With each module, we've got videos and an audio and a transcript. So, no matter how you like to learn, I've got you covered. If you want to watch the video, that's fantastic. If you'd rather listen to the audio while you're doing something else, that's fine too, and if you want a transcript that you can read and scribble all over, we've got that for you to download too.
Once you've completed the course and done the work on your numbers and got that pulled together, you're going to feel more in control of your business and you're going to have a level of confidence to make decisions about your business moving forward
It’s so important to make decisions based on the numbers, the real life of what's going on.
This program is different to anything else I've seen. Every other program I've seen is for bookkeepers or accountants, or it's trying to teach you how to be a bookkeeper or an accountant.
That's not what this is.
This is designed specifically for you as a business owner so you can understand what's going on, what the numbers are that are placed in front of you by your bookkeeper or accountant.
Rather than learning how to do that yourself, it's about looking at those reports and making decisions. You can work with your bookkeeper to pull those cashflow statements together but you need to understandiwhat the moving parts are in it.
So, it's for you, the business owner.
Now, you could go and ask your accountant to sit down with you and spend the time to go through it and help you through every step of the process, and my bet, that's going to cost you $1,000, $2,000 or perhaps more, and it's going to take a lot of your time as well.
So, you're paying for your accountant and plus your time and work involved.
Or you could sign up for the Simple Cash Flow Management Program for $197.
Not only will you get lifetime access to the program, but I’ve got 3 bonuses for you too.
